Gold and brass are coming back this year with a vengeance and I'm so excited to be using it in my pieces. Don't get me wrong, I love silver but it's nice to have something a little bit different in your jewelry box don't you think?

I had two delightful little princesses travelling from Ottawa come into the gallery the other day, with their parents. One little girl was very observant and full of questions for me about my art and my jewelry. She spotted the bracelet I was wearing and fell in love with it, both parents loved the arts and decided it would be a great idea to order two of these bracelets for their daughters. They will be a nice keepsake for the girls and something that will remind them of their family trip to BC. I always have fun such fun making these colourful whimsical pieces.

This bracelet is the perfect fun in the sun accessory to any outfit! I thought it would be fun to add one of the hand painted beads I had originally made for our Canada day celebration. I made a few of these beads thinking they would be perfect to add to my jewelry as we get so many tourists through our little gallery looking for something to take back to their home towns as souvenirs. I've also added some buttons which are becoming a signature of mine...lol a fellow artist said there were two sisters in the gallery asking for the button ladies name and phone number, they have buttons their mother had been collecting for years and want me to make them both necklaces with them. I can't wait to see all of their beautiful old buttons!
yaaaawwwwwwwn"honey what time is it"? DH says "6:00 a.m. go back to sleep it's Saturday"! eyes fly open... it's Saturday! how is one to sleep when there are treasures waiting to be found? my feet drop to the floor and I do the usual Saturday morning ritual of brushing my teeth, making coffee and checking out the yard sale advertisements. yippeeee there's two pages of them and i can't wait to get started but it's only 6:20, the first sale doesn't start until 7:30 am. hmmmm this gives me plenty of time to drink my coffee and make a strategically planned out route. tic toc tic toc goes the clock~i walk upstairs to our room to grab a sweater, it's a bit chilly out this morning! DH stirs a bit in his sleep..."oops did i wake you"? he turns over in bed and throws the blankets over his head with a sigh and i say "well seeing as you're up, do you wanna come garage saling with your lovely wife"? surprisingly he slowly sits up and says "sure"! o.k. I'm speechless here~what the heck has happened to my DH? normally he would have looked at me like i was crazy and went right back to sleep or at least he would have pretended he was asleep! i like this new guy:) "let's get going then... the first one starts in 10 minutes!!!! we pull up to the first house a 7:30 sharp and the rest is history. I did get some great deals today though, seven brand new canvases still in the packaging ~$4.00 beautiful china sugar bowls...these will be perfect for the bird feeders I've been planning to make for the gallery $10.00 great charms and bead $.75 spending the morning with my DH PRICELESS. you know what this means though...i have to get to work and start making more arts and crafts... that's what Sundays are for!

I have to admit I was a wee bit hesitant when asked to do this piece for a wedding shower gift . The customer wanted something neutral and said the bride to be liked the colour black. So you can see why I was a bit worried as I love working with lots of colour. I was really happy and surprised at how beautifully this turned out.

I’m dreaming of Canada tonight.A country where mountains and hopes touch the sky A country where an ocean of kindness fills all hearts A country where ideas are a forest of wisdom Oh God let me wake up in Canada!I'm dreaming of Canada tonight.A country where compassion is as tall as a douglas fir A country where understanding is as deep as a great lake A country where confidence grows like grain Oh God let me wake up in Canada!I’m dreaming of Canada tonight.A country where happiness flows like the water of a river A country where love is a breath of fresh air A country where peace covers the land like snow Oh God, please let me wake up in Canada, tonight...
