Well tomorrow is the opening of the Naked North Art Gallery and Gift Shop! I've been working so hard on crafting that when the time came to start pricing my work I had no idea of what I was going to use. All I knew was that I wanted something original and not store bought. This is what I came up with. I had so much fun doing these... I have to say though that after making about 100 of them my eyes were beginning to get a little buggy but I love them all the same:)

Creating a Custom Tag
Who would have thought that creating a custom tag for my crafts would be so difficult. Our gallery is opening this Friday and I'm still not clear as to what my tags will look like. I'm wanting something easy and simple but unique to me! I think I'll play around with some old books by cutting out circles with my scalloped edge scissors and maybe adding a second layer of colourful paper with my logo and contact information. I could really have some fun with these...

BACK to WORK!
Boohoo...the holiday is over! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile but I've returned back to work and I've been busy setting up my office! I'm finally getting to do what I've always wanted... I'm the new Program Assistant for Sunset Area Victims Crisis Referral Service. I get to be a little creative while at the same time making a difference in the lives of people in my community and surrounding area. There are so many things about this job that I love and one of them is that I only work a 21 hours work week, for now that is until I get some training under my belt and the office officially opens to the public which will be in the fall. This will leave me plenty of time to do some volunteer work at The Naked North Art and Gift shop while at the same time doing what I love most... creating! Finally... my life seems to be going in the direction it's always meant to go! I'll be posting pictures of our new gallery very soon!

"I'm Sorry" 5x7 Gift Card
This is the beginning of One Artsy Chick Greeting Cards! I think I've probably mentioned once or twice that we're opening an arts and craft gallery. I'm having so much fun creating these crafty cards. I've been keeping a journal of ideas as I think of them...we all know that if you don't write something while it's fresh in your memory it can be gone in a flash. Many of my ideas come from the media, television, and the internet. I especially like watching comedians as they have some really great material that I can reshape into a greeting card.
